Marshall Jackson Davion's defenders(bottom) face off against Precentor Armaros' Manei Domini Wraiths.
The Davions have established a solid defensive position with their LRM carriers(the vehicle clump on top of the hills at the top of the pic).

hey jt, as mentioned i was puzzling over the BV imbalance problems that we had with VG1. and i think i have an idea. the key is to use BV, not ABV.
1) even though by right any attacking force whose commander is not on crack will have a 3:1 advantage, to make it a fight that will go either way the BV must be roughly equal
2) AFFS BV was supposed to be 125% of WoB BV, and the AFFS were supposed to be staffed by mostly 4/5s with occasional 3/4s. WoB were to be staffed by mostly 3/4s with occasional 2/3s.
2a) the multiplier for a 3/4 is 1.25 exactly
3) therefore maybe what we should have done was used BV to compose out units, with 12k for me and 16k for kwat, then let us shove in the improved pilots as appropriate.
4) the Chaos Unbound section in Dawn of the Jihad seems to agree with this reading.
5) this would also have made the MD LvlII a much bigger help, especially if the excess that couldn't be fitted into Jackie the D's lance was wasted. although this would have helped less if the total BV fielded was bigger
Actually, most of the commandos agreed that it was to be ABV, not BV. The Wobblies were supposed to go suicidal and bore in at their targets, not hang back lollygagging around.
400 CF worth of buildings, on hindsight, were within your reach with a determined push on the river delta side. That would have swung the scores, made the final score 700 Wob - 800 FS, much closer than the actual outcome. And if all the buildings were down? Wob would have won by 800-700. After all, I still managed to down 200 CF after Ravi left.
Problem is, most players can't think like Wobblies like me! ^_^
The next phase, if it is going to be as I expected, will be very interesting. I will be building the forces using the units which survived the first round on both sides. Armaros and Jackson will have their final showdown...
